DECLARING THE THIRD WEEK OF SEPTEMBER OF EVERY YEAR AS PHILIPPINE NATIONAL LAW WEEK

WHEREAS, the blessings of independence and democracy may only be secured for our people under the rule of law;

WHEREAS, members of the bar play an important and indispensable role in the administration of justice and in the maintenance of the rule of law in our democratic society;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting that the vital role of members of the bar and the rule of law in the life and well-being of the nation be duly brought to the attention of our people;

WHEREAS, Proclamation No. 1477 dated 7 August 1975 declared the 19th of September of every year as Law Day;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare and proclaim the third week of September of every year as Philippine National Law Week. The Integrated Bar of the Philippines and all other lawyers organizations are hereby enjoined to celebrate the week with appropriate and meaningful programs, projects and ceremonies.1aшphi1

All government agencies and offices are hereby directed to extend full cooperation to the Integrated Bar of the Philippines to ensure the success of the celebration of Philippine National Law Week.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
