[ Proclamation No. 637, August 30, 1995 ]

DECLARING A STATE OF CALAMITY IN THE MUNICIPALITIES OF KIAMBA, MAASIM AND ALABEL, PROVINCE OF SARANGANI WHICH WERE ADVERSELY AFFECTED BY FLOODS

WHEREAS, flashfloods struck the Municipalities of Kiamba, Maasim and Alabel in the Province of Sarangani which resulted in the loss of the lives of three persons and destroyed properties worth millions of pesos;

WHEREAS, there is an urgent need for the declaration of a state of calamity in the Municipalities of Kiamba, Maasim and Alabel, in view of the effects of the floods, and in order that the province may make use of its calamity fund for the relief and other emergency requirements of the affected constituents;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare that a state of public calamity exists in the Municipalities of Kiamba, Maasim and Alabel in the Province of Sarangani.1aшphi1

All department and other government agencies concerned are hereby directed to implement and execute relief and rehabilitation work in accordance with existing operations plans, directives and orders issued in connection with calamities.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
