DECLARING THE EXISTENCE OF A STATE OF CALAMITY IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF CONCEPCION, ILOILO DUE TO THE OUTBREAK OF DENGUE HEMORRHAGIC FEVER IN THE AREA

WHEREAS, the Secretary of National Defense and Chairman of the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) recommends the declaration of a state of calamity in the Municipality of Concepcion, Iloilo in view of the outbreak of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever in the area;

WHEREAS, the said fever has already claimed the lives of two (2) children and affected more than eighty (80) persons with a continuous rise in the number of patients being admitted daily in various clinics and hospitals, as monitored and reported by the Municipality Health Officer thereat;

WHEREAS, there is an urgent need for the declaration of a state of calamity in the area in order that the municipal government may make use of its calamity fund to implement measures that will contain the spread of the disease;

NOW THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare that a state of calamity exists in the Municipality of Concepcion, Iloilo.

All departments and other government agencies concerned are hereby directed to implement all necessary measures in accordance with existing operational plans, directives and orders issued in connection with calamities and contain the spread of the disease.1aшphi1
