DECLARING A STATE OF CALAMITY IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF LINGAYEN, PANGASINAN

WHEREAS, the Secretary of National Defense and Chairman of the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) has recommended the declaration of a state of calamity in the Municipality of Lingayen, Pangasinan due to the effects of a fire which razed the old science building of the Pangasinan School of Arts and Trade (PSAT), including all its equipment and laboratory facilities;

WHEREAS, there is an urgent need for the declaration of a state of calamity in the area in order that the Department of Public Works and Highways may make use of the Calamity Fund for the reconstruction of the burned structures thereat;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare that a state of public calamity exists in the Municipality of Lingayen, Pangasinan.

The release to the Department of Public Works and Highways of the amount of TWO MILLION PESOS (P2,000,000.00) from the Calamity Fund is hereby authorized.1aшphi1
