[ Proclamation No. 602, June 19, 1995 ]

DECLARING TUESDAY, JUNE 20, 1995, AS A SPECIAL DAY IN THE PROVINCE OF ISABELA

WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 7891, dated February 20, 1995, divides the Province of Isabela into two Provinces namely: Isabela Del Norte and Isabela Del Sur;

WHEREAS, the creation of the provinces of Isabela Del Norte and Isabela Del Sur shall be subject to the approval of the majority of the votes cast by the voters of the affected areas in a plebiscite to be conducted by the COMELEC within 120 days from the day of the effectivity of R.A. 7891;

WHEREAS, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has set June 20, 1995, as the day for the plebiscite to be held;

WHEREAS, and upon the recommendation of the COMELEC, the plebiscite day should be declared as a special day to give the electorate of Isabela full opportunity to cast their vote in said plebiscite;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Tuesday, June 20, 1995, as a special day in the Province of Isabela.1aшphi1
