[ Proclamation No. 576, May 5, 1995 ]

AUTHORIZING THE NARCOTICS FOUNDATION OF THE PHILIPPINES, INC., TO CONDUCT A NATIONWIDE EDUCATIONAL AND FUND CAMPAIGN FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR

WHEREAS, the Narcotics Foundation of the Philippines, Inc., a private non-stock, non-profit organization supplements and supports the program of the government in the prevention and control of drug abuse in the country for the last twenty years.

WHEREAS, the Foundation will intensify its preventive education program against drug abuse by implementing projects, which will involve the youth, their parents, barangay leaders, the church, the family, and other traditional institutions;

WHEREAS, the Foundation will set-up Kapitbahay Centers in strategic locations, which will maximize the use of limited human and financial resources for the prevention and control of drug at barangay level;

WHEREAS, the Foundation will likewise assist in concerted efforts to prevent AIDS from further spreading in the country;

WHEREAS, the Foundation needs the support of the public to realize its laudable objectives.1aшphi1

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Narcotics Foundation of the Philippines, Inc., to conduct a nationwide educational and fund campaign for a period of one year effective upon the promulgation of this proclamation.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
