DECLARING THE EXISTENCE OF A STATE OF CALAMITY IN THE PROVINCE OF EASTERN SAMAR PARTICULARLY THE MUNICIPALITIES OF BORONGAN, CAN-AVID, DOLORES, SAN POLICARPIO, ORAS, SAN JULIAN, SULAT AND TAFT

WHEREAS, pursuant to PFVR HWI Ref. #H951174 dated April 21, 1995, the declaration of a state of calamity in the Province of Eastern Samar, which was severely affected by the earthquake on April 21, 1995, was approved by the President;

WHEREAS, the National Disaster and Coordinating Council (NDCC) specified the calamity areas in a letter to DBM Secretary Salvador H. Enriquez, Jr., dated April 24, 1995;

WHEREAS, the areas affected are the Province of Eastern Samar and the Municipalities of Borongan, Can-avid, Dolores, San Policarpio, Oras, San Julian, Sulat and Taft;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare a state of public calamity in the Province of Eastern Samar, particularly the Municipalities of Borongan, Can-avid, Dolores, San Policarpio, Oras, San Julian, Sulat and Taft.1aшphi1

All departments and other government agencies concerned are hereby directed to implement and execute relief and rehabilitation work in accordance with existing operational plans and directives and orders issued in connection with calamities.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
