DECLARING FRIDAY, APRIL 28, 1995, THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE LIBERATION OF DAVAO CITY, AS A SPECIAL DAY IN DAVAO CITY

WHEREAS, April 28, 1995, marks the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of Davao City from enemy occupation during World War II;

WHEREAS, this historic day should properly and fittingly be observed to immortalize the strong spirit of liberation, which was paramount in the hearts and minds of the Filipino people, particularly the people of Davao City during the short-lived enemy occupation;

WHEREAS, the City of Davao and its people should be given every opportunity to commemorate the 50th Liberation of Davao with appropriate activities that would actualize the preservation of the principles of freedom, liberty, and nationalism as components of the totality of Filipino values.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Friday, April 28, 1995, as a special day in the City of Davao.1aшphi1
