[ Proclamation No. 554, March 24, 1995 ]

DECLARING A STATE OF CALAMITY IN BARANGAY TEJERO, CEBU CITY WHICH WAS ADVERSELY AFFECTED BY FIRE

WHEREAS, a fire of undetermined cause in Barangay Tejero, Cebu City last 9 March 1995 affected an estimated 454 families, comprising more than 2,000 persons;

WHEREAS, evacuation centers set-up by the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Bagong Buhay, Blessed Sacrament and Doņa Pepang Cemetery were unable to service all affected families/persons;

WHEREAS, the cost of assistance from the local government units, the Philippine National Red Cross and a private citizen has amounted to P155,581.20;

NOW THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare a state of calamity in Barangay Tejero, Cebu City, which was adversely affected by fire.

All departments and other government agencies concerned are hereby directed to implement and execute relief and rehabilitation work in accordance with existing operational plans, directives and orders issued in connection with calamities.1aшphi1
