DECLARING DECEMBER 15, 1994, A SPECIAL PUBLIC NON-WORKING HOLIDAY IN OCCIDENTAL MINDORO

WHEREAS, the 50th anniversary of the Landing in Mindoro Island will be observed in San Jose, Mindoro Occidental, on December 15, 1994;

WHEREAS, the landing of US and Allied forces in the said town on December 15, 1944, marked the liberation of Mindoro Island from enemy occupation during World War II;

WHEREAS, the people of Occidental Mindoro affirm their continued loyalty to the principles of freedom and democracy, for which they need time to appropriately observe and reflect on the significance of the occasion;

NOW THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare December 15, 1994, as a special public non-working holiday in the province of Occidental Mindoro.

For this purpose, I call upon the Local Government of Occidental Mindoro to spearhead the activities to celebrate the landing in Mindoro Island in meaningful rites and ceremonies.ℒαwρhi৷

I call upon veterans of World War II in the province to assist the Local Government in these commemorative activities.

call upon the students and youth in Occidental Mindoro to participate in the activities.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
