[ Proclamation No. 492, October 26, 1994 ]

DECLARING A STATE OF CALAMITY IN ZAMBOANGA CITY ADVERSELY AFFECTED BY WHIRLWIND AND FLASH FLOOD ON SEPTEMBER 19 AND 20, 1994

Upon recommendation of Secretary Renato S. de Villa of National Defense as Chairman of the National Disaster Coordinating Council and pursuant to the powers vested in me by law, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare a state of calamity in Zamboanga City, which was adversely affected by whirlwind and flash flood on September 19 and 20, 1994.

All departments and other government agencies concerned are hereby directed to implement and execute relief and rehabilitation work in accordance with existing operational plans and directives and orders issued in connection with calamities.

By virtue of this declaration of a state of calamity, the local government unit concerned shall utilize its local Calamity Fund for relief/rehabilitation operations in affected areas.
