DECLARING THE LAST WEEK OF OCTOBER 1994 AS PHILIPPINE TOASTMASTERS WEEK

WHEREAS, among the first international organizations to be established in the Philippines was the Toastmasters International when, in 1952, shortly after the Second World War, it put up the Tamaraw Toastmasters Club;

WHEREAS, since its initial foothold in the country, the toastmasters clubs have tremendously grown in number serving, in the process, thousands of Filipinos;

WHEREAS, the programs and activities of toastmasters clubs being geared toward the development of the person by the honing of his communication skills and strengthening of his leadership abilities are parallel to the aims of Philippines 2000;

WHEREAS, the thrusts, goals, and dynamics of the present leadership and membership of Philippine Toastmasters District in making communication an essential vehicle to the growth and progress of the country are singled out and acknowledged as directly supportive of the visions of the Philippine Government program called “Philippines 2000”;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the last week of October 1994 as Philippine Toastmasters Week.ℒαwρhi৷

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
