DECLARING THURSDAY, OCTOBER 20, 1994, AS A SPECIAL DAY IN THE PROVINCES OF LEYTE AND SOUTHERN LEYTE AND THE CITIES OF TACLOBAN AND ORMOC

WHEREAS, Thursday, October 20, 1994, marks the 50th Anniversary of the Leyte Landing that initiated the liberation of the Philippines during World War II;

WHEREAS, the residents of the provinces of Leyte and Southern Leyte and the cities of Tacloban and Ormoc should be given the opportunity to commemorate this historic occasion with appropriate ceremonies and activities;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by Book I, Chapter 7, Section 27, of the Administrative Code of 1987, do hereby declare Thursday, October 20, 1994, as a special day in the provinces of Leyte and Southern Leyte and the cities of Tacloban and Ormoc.ℒαwρhi৷

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
