[ Proclamation No. 463, September 3, 1994 ]

DECLARING THE FIRST WEEK OF SEPTEMBER OF EVERY YEAR AS COMMUNITY CHEST WEEK AND AUTHORIZING THE COMMUNITY CHEST FOUNDATION, INC., TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL AND FUND CAMPAIGN FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR

WHEREAS, the Community Chest Foundation, Inc., a non-stock, non-profit, voluntary, charitable, welfare, and civic non-governmental organization founded on September 5, 1949, has since continuously and effectively carried out the noble mission of social service;

WHEREAS, with its dedicated commitment to the service of humanity, the Community Chest Foundation, Inc., recognizes its responsibility to improve and expand its services to our less fortunate fellowmen in more ways than one;

WHEREAS, the Community Chest is cognizant of the need for a stronger public awareness about its more than four decades of existence in community service for information dissemination and outreach programs;

WHEREAS, in order to carry out its noble objectives, the Foundation needs the financial and moral support of the public;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the first week of September of every year as Community Chest Week and authorize the Community Chest Foundation, Inc. (CCFI), to conduct a national educational and fund campaign for a period of one year, effective upon the promulgation of this Proclamation.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
