DECLARING THE SECOND WEEK OF OCTOBER OF EVERY YEAR AS NATIONAL MENTAL HEALTH WEEK

WHEREAS, Proclamation No. 432, dated August 12, 1957, declared every third week of January as National Mental Health Week;

WHEREAS, the First World Mental Health Days celebration has triggered more active international communications, which lead to a stronger cooperation worldwide among the participating organizations;

WHEREAS, a synchronized worldwide celebration will get more public attention and support for mental health work; and

WHEREAS, it has become expedient to be more in accord with the celebration of the World Mental Health Day to change the date of celebration of the National Mental Health week;

NOW THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the second week of October of every year as National Mental Health Week under the auspices of the Philippine Mental Health Association.1aшphi1

This supersedes Proclamation No. 432, dated August 12, 1957.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
