DECLARING A STATE OF PUBLIC CALAMITY IN DAVAO CITY IN VIEW OF THE ADVERSE EFFECTS OF TROPICAL DEPRESSION “DELING” ON 25 MAY 1994 IN SAID AREAS

WHEREAS, the National Disaster Coordinating Council recommends the declaration of a state of public calamity in the City of Davao due to the damage caused by Tropical depression Deling last 25 May 1994;

WHEREAS, a declaration of a state of public calamity in the aforesaid city will facilitate the provision of appropriate rehabilitation measures and assistance normally extended by concerned agencies to the concerned areas;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare a state of public calamity in the City of Davao;

All departments and other government agencies concerned are hereby directed to implement and execute relief and rehabilitation work in accordance with existing operational plans and directives and orders issued in connection with calamities.
