DECLARING A STATE OF CALAMITY IN FOUR (4) PROVINCES AND TWO (2) CITIES ADVERSELY AFFECTED BY TROPICAL STORM “BISING”

Upon recommendation of the Acting Secretary of National Defense as Acting Chairman of the National Disaster Coordinating Council and pursuant to the powers vested in me by law, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare additional areas under a State of Calamity adversely affected by tropical storm “Bising”. These areas are the provinces and cities of:

Surigao del Sur

Surigao del Norte

Surigao City

Camiguin

Agusan del Norte

Butuan City

All departments and other government agencies concerned are hereby directed to implement and execute relief and rehabilitation work in accordance with existing operational plans and directives and orders issued in connection with calamities.

The local government units concerned should set aside five per cent (5%) of their annual budgets as reserve for disaster operations. The declaration of a State of Calamity will authorize the same LGUs to utilize their own calamity funds for the initial operations.1aшphi1
