[ Proclamation No. 916, June 4, 1992 ]

DECLARING A STATE OF PUBLIC CALAMITY IN THE PROVINCES OF ZAMBALES, TARLAC, AND PAMPANGA, INCLUDING ANGELES CITY, WHICH ARE AFFECTED BY LAHAR FLOWS FROM MT. PINATUBO

WHEREAS, the aforesaid provinces, including Angeles City, are affected by lahar flows from Mt. Pinatubo;

WHEREAS, there is urgent need to declare the existence of a state of calamity in said areas to ensure the implementation of emergency measures for the welfare and safety of the people therein.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare a state of public calamity in the Province of Zambales, Tarlac and Pampanga, including Angeles City, which are affected by lahar flows from Mt. Pinatubo.ℒαwρhi৷

All departments and other government agencies concerned are hereby directed to implement and execute relief and rehabilitation work in accordance with existing operational plans and directives and orders issued in connection with calamities.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
