[ Proclamation No. 827, November 6, 1991 ]

AMENDING PROCLAMATION NO. 823 DATED OCTOBER 30, 1991 DECLARING A STATE OF PUBLIC CALAMITY IN CERTAIN PROVINCES AND CITIES IN REGIONS I, II AND THE CORDILLERA ADMINISTRATIVE REGION WHICH SUFFERED FROM THE EFFECTS OF TYPHOON “TRINING” TO INCLUDE THEREIN BATANES AND IFUGAO PROVINCES.

WHEREAS, additional disaster reports reveal that in Ifugao alone 1,300 houses were damaged affecting 11,000 residents and P15 million worth of infrastructure such as roads, flood control and drainage facilities;

WHEREAS, the province of Batanes also needs assistance considering its proximity to the typhoon path where severe destructions were noted; and

WHEREAS, to facilitate the normalization of conditions in the typhoon-stricken areas, the National Disaster Coordinating Council recommends the declaration of a state of public calamity in the two provinces.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby amend Proclamation No. 823 dated October 30, 1991 declaring a state of public calamity in certain provinces and cities in Regions I, II and the Cordillera Administrative Region which suffered from the effects of typhoon “Trining” to include therein the provinces of Batanes and Ifugao which were also hit heavily by the typhoon.ℒαwρhi৷

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
