[ Proclamation No. 769, August 9, 1991 ]

DECLARING A STATE OF PUBLIC CALAMITY IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF LANTAPAN, BUKIDNON PROVINCE IN VIEW OF THE DESTRUCTION CAUSED BY A TORNADO ON JULY 2, 1991

WHEREAS, the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) recommends the declaration of a state of public calamity in the Municipality of Lantapan, Bukidnon Province in view of the destruction caused by a tornado on July 2, 1991 which triggered flash floods and landslide;

WHEREAS, based on the report of the Provincial Disaster Coordinating Council of Bukidnon, eleven (11) out of fourteen (14) barangays of Lantapan suffered in terms of serious destruction to crops, infrastructures and private properties, and the initial estimated cost of damages to infrastructures and agriculture is placed at P2.37 million and P5.9 million, respectively;

WHEREAS, the declaration of a state of public calamity in the Municipality of Lantapan will ensure the flow of assistance and fast recovery and rehabilitation through the programs of various responding agencies of the government;

NOW, THEREFOR, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declared a state of public calamity in the Municipality of Lantapan, Bukidnon Province.ℒαwρhi৷

All departments and other government agencies concerned are hereby directed to implement and execute relief and rehabilitation work in accordance with existing operational plans and directives and order issued in correction with calamities.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
