[ Proclamation No. 758, July 12, 1991 ]

DECLARING DECEMBER 8, 1991 TO DECEMBER 8, 1992 AS THE COMMEMORATIVE PERIOD FOR THE OBSERVANCE OF THE FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY OF WORLD WAR II

WHEREAS, the year nineteen hundred and ninety-two (1992) will mark the fiftieth anniversary of World War II;

WHEREAS, a National Executive Committee has been constituted under Memorandum Order No. 344, series of 1991, that shall undertake the observance of the Araw ng Kagitingan, the Philippine Veterans Week and the 50th anniversary of World War II;

WHEREAS, as the nationwide observance will be attended by and participated in not only by the Filipino people but likewise by foreign governments, nationals, veterans organizations and other institutions, it is but fitting that national awareness and attention should be focused on this historical event;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare December 8, 1991 to December 8, 1992 as the commemorative period for the observance of the fiftieth anniversary of World War II.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.ℒαwρhi৷
