DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM JUNE 23 TO 29, 1991 AS “SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES DEVELOPMENT WEEK”

WHEREAS, pursuant to Republic Act No. 6977 otherwise known as the Magna Carta for Small Enterprises, it is the declared policy of the State to promote, support, strengthen and encourage the growth and development of small and medium enterprises in all productive sectors of the economy particularly rural/agri-based industries;

WHEREAS, there is need to invite public awareness to small and medium enterprises potential for employment generation and contribution to the economic growth of the country;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from June 23 to 29, 1991, as “Small and Medium Enterprises Development Week”.
