DECLARING THE EXISTENCE OF A STATE OF PUBLIC CALAMITY IN THE PROVINCES OF NORTH COTABATO, SULTAN KUDARAT AND LANAO DEL NORTE

WHEREAS, a state of public calamity must be declared in the provinces of North Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat and Lanao del Norte which have been seriously affected by drought resulting in total production losses amounting to about P300 million in order to ensure immediate implementation of remedial measures that will control the situation, minimize future losses and provide relief to the affected farmers and their dependents;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare that a state of public calamity exists in the provinces of North Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat and Lanao del Norte.ℒαwρhi৷

All departments and other government agencies concerned are hereby directed to implement and execute relief and rehabilitation work in these provinces in accordance with existing operational plans and directives and orders issued in connection with calamities.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
