DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM MARCH 18 to 23, 1991 AS “THRIFT BANK WEEK”

WHEREAS, the thrift bank industry plays a vital role in the over-all banking system of the Philippines;

WHEREAS, there is a felt need to focus public attention on the significance of thrift banking in the country;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period March 18 to 23, 1991 as “Thrift Bank Week”.
