[ Proclamation No. 638, September 3, 1990 ]

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM SEPTEMBER 7 TO 20, 1990, AS “PEACE TOYS WEEK”

WHEREAS, Proclamation No. 446, dated August 14, 1989, which declared September 7 to September 20, 1989, as “Peace Toys Week,” was issued to heighten public awareness against the glorification of violence and the propagation of war which war toys promote and to introduce children to peace toys and encourage the use thereof for their well-being; and

WHEREAS, there is a need to renew Proclamation No. 446, s. 1989, to make the observance thereof meaningful and a success;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from September 7 to 20, 1990, as “Peace Toys Week” under the auspices of the National Federation of Womens Club of the Philippines.

I call upon all public and private offices, institutions and organizations to extend their assistance to make the observance of Peace Toys Week” meaningful and a success.ℒαwρhi৷

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
