[ Proclamation No. 571, May 17, 1990 ]

FURTHER AMENDING PROCLAMATION NO. 551 DATED APRIL 11, 1990 DECLARING THE EXISTENCE OF A STATE OF PUBLIC CALAMITY IN ZAMBOANGA DEL NORTE AND ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR TO INCLUDE THEREIN CAPIZ, SOUTH COTABATO AND DAVAO CITY WHICH WERE AFFECTED BY DROUGHT.

WHEREAS, the Secretary of National Defense and Chairman, National Disaster Coordinating Council, recommends the declaration of a state of public calamity in the provinces of Capiz in Region VI and South Cotabato and Davao City in Region XI which suffered heavily from the effects of the long drought; and

WHEREAS, based on the data gathered and submitted to the Department of Agriculture, a total of 35,228 hectares of farmlands were heavily affected with an estimated production loss of P250.33 million or 40,224 metric tons incurred by the aforementioned areas;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby further amend Proclamation No. 551 dated April 11, 1990 to include therein the provinces of Capiz in Region VI and South Cotabato and Davao City in Region XI.ℒαwρhi৷
