[ Proclamation No. 338, October 26, 1988 ]

DECLARING THE EXISTENCE OF A STATE OF PUBLIC CALAMITY IN CERTAIN AREAS OF THE COUNTRY.

WHEREAS, the National Capital Regional, Regions III, IV, V, VIII, and X, have suffered damages to crops, livestock, and property caused by typhoon “Unsang” in said regions; and

WHEREAS, a state of public calamity exists in the said regions arising from the effects of the typhoon;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby proclaim that a state of public calamity exists in the National Capital Region, and in Regions III, IV, V, VIII, and X.

All departments and other government agencies concerned are hereby directed to implement and execute relief and rehabilitation work in accordance with existing operational plans and directives and orders issued in connection with calamities.
