[ Proclamation No. 232, March 24, 1988 ]
DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM JANUARY 1 TO DECEMBER 31, 1988, AS “FRANCISCO (BALAGTAS) BALTAZAR BICENTENNIAL YEAR”, AND AUTHORIZING THE FRANCISCO (BALAGTAS) BALTAZAR COMMISSION TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL FUND CAMPAIGN.
WHEREAS, the year 1988 marks the bicentennial of the birth of Francisco (Balagtas) Baltazar, Prince of Filipino poets; and
WHEREAS, there is need to foster and propagate his nationalistic fervor as given expression in his Florante at Laura and other literary works.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from January 1 to December 31, 1988, as “Francisco (Balagtas) Baltazar Bicentennial Year” and authorizing the Francisco (Balagtas) Baltazar Commission to conduct a national fund campaign for the above purposes for a period of one year from the issuance of this Proclamation.ℒαwρhi৷
