MALACAÑAN PALACE MANILA BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES [ Proclamation No. 222, February 23, 1988 ] DECLARING WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 1988, AS A SPECIAL HOLIDAY IN CALAMBA, LAGUNA. WHEREAS, Wednesday, February 24, 1988, marks the 100th birth anniversary of General Vicente Lim, the first Filipino West Point graduate and Commanding General of the famed 41st Infantry Division, USAFEE, which was among the valiant defenders of Bataan during World War II; and WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the residents of Calamba, his birthplace, should at least be given full opportunity to celebrate the day with appropriate ceremonies. NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Wednesday, February 24, 1988, as a Special Holiday in Calamba, Laguna.ℒαwρhi৷ IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
