[ Proclamation No. 213, January 29, 1988 ]

AUTHORIZING THE EPHPHETA FOUNDATION FOR THE BLIND, INC., TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL, EDUCATIONAL, MEMBERSHIP AND FUND CAMPAIGN FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR.

WHEREAS, for over eighteen years, the Ephpheta Foundation for the Blind, Inc., formerly the Ephpheta, Inc., has engaged in various rehabilitation projects for the blind;

WHEREAS, the Foundation maintains a dormitory for single blind girls and a nursery-kindergarten for the children of the disabled;

WHEREAS, the Foundation is seeking to establish a Home for the Aged Blind and to build one hundred (100) low-cost houses in lots awarded by the National Housing Authority; and

WHEREAS, these activities of the Foundation deserve the full support of the public;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Ephpheta Foundation for the Blind, Inc., to conduct a national, educational, membership and fund campaign for a period of one year, effective upon the promulgation of this proclamation.

I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines to support this humanitarian endeavor by giving generously of their means.ℒαwρhi৷

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
