DECLARING APRIL 20-26, 1986 AS INFORMATION AND COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY WEEK.

WHEREAS, there is a need to highlight the important role that information systems play in the development process, particularly in policy formulation and in the implementation of development programs;

WHEREAS, there is a necessity to focus attention on the need for more efficient methods of gathering, processing and utilizing information in the light of current developments requiring sound and systematic designing and implementing explicit and coherent plans and policies; and

WHEREAS, it is essential to focus public attention to the role of information and computer technology in national development;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, do hereby proclaim April 20–26, 1986 as “Information and Computer Technology Week.”
