DECLARING JANUARY 16, OF EVERY YEAR AS “ARAW NG NAVOTAS” AND JANUARY 16, 1986 AS A SPECIAL WORKING PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN NAVOTAS, METROPOLITAN MANILA.

WHEREAS, January 16, 1986 marks the 80th Anniversary of the founding of Navotas, Metropolitan Manila, as an independent municipality;

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper to focus public attention on the phenomenal growth of Navotas into a progressive municipality;

WHEREAS, the residents of Navotas desire to celebrate this milestone in their municipality’s history and therefore should be afforded full opportunity to celebrate the same with fitting rites and ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare January 16 of every year as “Araw Ng Navotas” and January 16, 1986 as a special working public holiday in the Municipality of Navotas, Metropolitan Manila.
