[ Proclamation No. 17, July 12, 1986 ]

PROCLAIMING A STATE OF PUBLIC CALAMITY IN CERTAIN AREAS IN THE COUNTRY WHICH WERE AFFECTED BY TYPHOON “GADING”.

WHEREAS, great damage and destruction to life and property were brought by typhoon “Gading” in certain areas in the country; and

WHEREAS, a state of public calamity exists in these areas arising from the effects of the typhoon;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby proclaim that a state of public calamity exists in the following areas in the country;

Region I – Abra, Benguet, Mountain Province and Pangasinan

Region II – Cagayan, Kalinga-Apayao, Isabela

Region III – Nueva Ecija, Bulacan

All Ministries and other government agencies concerned are hereby directed to implement and execute rescue, relief and rehabilitation work in accordance with existing operational plans and the directive and order issued in connection with calamities.1aшphi1

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
