PROCLAMATION NO. 2217

AUTHORIZING THE “LINGKOD BAYAN” TO CONDUCT AN EDUCATIONAL AND FUND CAMPAIGN DURING THE PERIOD FROM JUNE 1, 1982 TO DECEMBER 31, 1982.

WHEREAS, the development of our country and people need the total involvement of all concerned to maximize all efforts towards the realization of said goal;

WHEREAS, the “Lingkod Bayan” in all its programs, projects, and activities has all these times been geared towards the promotion of the national well-being and prosperity;

WHEREAS, the operations of the “Lingkod Bayan” of its very laudable aims and purposes are hamstrung by the lack of nationwide response and financial support by the entire nation;

WHEREAS, the unqualified moral and financial support by all concerned will go a long way towards making the efforts of the “Lingkod Bayan” in coordination with government as positive instruments towards national development;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the “Lingkod Bayan” to conduct a national educational and fund campaign during the period from June 1, 1982 to December 31, 1982.ℒαwρhi৷

I call upon all citizens, residents regardless of nationality or creed, business firms, civic, religious and educational institutions to support actively and generously of their time and means towards the realization of the above objectives.

It is hereby reiterated that all donations or contributions to the “Lingkod Bayan” shall constitute allowable deductions in full from the income of the donors and contributors for income tax purposes.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
