PROCLAMATION NO. 1941

DECLARING THE THIRD WEEK OF FEBRUARY OF EACH YEAR AS VETERINARY MEDICINE WEEK

WHEREAS, it is desirable to underscore the role played by veterinarians in nation-building particularly in improving human nutrition and augmenting rural family income through increased livestock and poultry production;

WHEREAS, the veterinary profession safeguards not only animal health but also human health through the control of zoonotic diseases; and

WHEREAS, it is also fitting and proper to focus public attention on the shortage of veterinary manpower and therefore encourage the youth to pursue veterinary medicine as a career;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the third week of February of each year as Veterinary Medicine Week under the auspices of the Philippine Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA) and other concerned entities.ℒαwρhi৷

IN WITNESS HEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
