[ Proclamation No. 1835, March 26, 1979 ]

ANNOUNCING THE HOLDING OF ELECTIONS FOR THE POSITIONS OF REPRESENTATIVES TO THE SANGGUNIANG PAMPOOK OF REGIONS NINE AND TWELVE.

WHEREAS, pursuant to Cabinet Bill No. 18, which became Batasang Pambansa Blg. 20, the President of the Philippines is authorized to fix the date of elections of representatives to the positions of Sangguniang Pampook of Regions Nine and Twelve;

WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2 of said Batasang Pambansa Blg. 20, the President of the Philippines is authorized to fix the period of campaign by candidates of candidacy pursuant to the 1978 Election Code.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by Batasang Pambansa Blg. 20, do hereby set the date of the elections, the campaign period and the filing of certificates of candidacy by candidates to the positions of representatives to the Sangguniang Pampook of Regions Nine and Twelve, as follows:

1) The elections of representatives to the Sangguniang Pampook in Regions Nine and Twelve shall be held on May 7, 1979;

2) The campaign period of candidates shall not be more than thirty-one (31) days starting April 5 to May 5, 1979; and

3) The last day of filing of certificates of candidacy by candidates to the positions of representatives to the Sangguniang Pampook of Regions Nine and Twelve shall not be later than April 12, 1979.
