CREATING A COMMITTEE TO OVERSEE THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE PEOPLE POWER MONUMENT IN EDSA

In order to preserve and immortalize in a permanent commemorative mark the noble ideals of the February, 1986 EDSA People Power revolution and the peaceful means by which it was pursued to restore democracy in the Philippines gaining as it did world-wide acclaim and admiration, the President has decided to set up a monument and, in view thereof, an Ad Hoc Committee to oversee the construction thereof is hereby created, composed of the following:

The Committee shall be assisted by the Department of Public Works and Highways, the Philippine Tourism Authority, Department of National Defense and National Parks Development Committee in the preparation and execution of this project after its approval by this Office.

The Committee may call for assistance upon any department, agency or instrumentality of the Government as may be necessary to carry out the purposes of this Order.

The Committee shall submit reports and recommendations as may be necessary to the Executive Secretary for the immediate implementation and completion of this project.ᇈWᑭHILp>

This Order shall take effect immediately.
