AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE FOURTH NATIONAL SCHOOL ENROLLMENT DAY ON JANUARY 26, 1998

The National School Enrollment Day (NSED), which is held on the last Monday of January every year, as provided for under DECS Order No. 65, s. 1994, is basically intended to provide DECS with a reliable basis in planning the number of assignment of teachers, classrooms, textbooks and other school equipment and facilities for every school opening.1âшphi1

To ensure greater success in the implementation of this program, all officials and employees in both the national and local governments, as well as in government owned and/or controlled corporations and government financial institutions, who intend to enroll their children (at least 6 years old by June 1, 1998) in Grade I in any public school in the country, are hereby authorized to participate in the fourth NSED on January 26, 1998, and shall not be considered absent from office, provided they submit to their office heads a certification of such participation issued by the school official concerned. Heads of government offices, however, should take necessary measures to ensure non-disruption of the normal work flow.
