ADOPTING THE SONG, “BATHALA, BLESS OUR PRESIDENT” AS CEREMONIAL HYMN IN CERTAIN OFFICIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES

Having such stirring qualities appropriate to the dignity and honor of the Chief Executive of the land, the song “Bathala, Bless our President” is hereby adopted as official hymn of salutation or overture in certain formal functions attended by the President of the Republic of the Philippines.1aшphi1

All departments, offices and agencies of the government are enjoined to play this strain, upon arrival and departure of the President, during formal receptions, or occasions of marked importance and solemnity such as state functions and cultural affairs, or when the President troops the line during military honors.

However, at no time shall this song be played or sung differently except in its original and classic version, as created or arranged by its composer, National Artist Antonio Buenaventura.

This Memorandum Circular shall take effect immediately.
