GRANTING SPECIAL PRIVILEGES TO THE TOP 500 INDIVIDUAL TAXPAYERS OF THE PHILIPPINES

TO: All Concerned

WHEREAS, the Bureau of Internal Revenue awards annual Certificates of Recognition to the nation’s top 500 individual taxpayers as an acknowledgment of their meaningful contribution to the growth and development of the country;

WHEREAS, their tax compliance serves as a worthy example for other taxpayers to emulate.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers in me vested by the Constitution, do hereby confer special privileges to grantees of BIR Certificate of Recognition, as follows:

1. Exemption from the tax clearance requirement for the following purposes:

a. Bidding on government projects;

b. Collecting from the government for goods sold or services rendered;

c. Acquiring loans from financial institutions; and

d. Securing travel permit /clearance.

2. Increased foreign exchange allocation for foreign travel as shall be prescribed by the Central Bank.

3. Prompt and immediate attention in their transactions with the following government agencies:

a. Securities and Exchange Commission;

b. Board of Transportation;

c. Bureau of Land Transportation;

d. Register of Deeds;

e. Board of Investments;

f. Bureau of Customs; and

g. Bureau of Internal Revenue

4. Preferential treatment in bookings for passage in any domestic or foreign carrier.1aшphi1
